Peter Wilde: In a word, Peter Wilde is fun. In two more, he’s soulful and real. There’s nothing pretentious, slick, or glossy. Engaging and entertaining, he attracts the salt of the earth to all they know to be true.

On his latest release, Natural Disasters, Wilde takes time with more common themes than he’s written in the past. There’s more of a big easy this go round than his previous releases which were ostensibly aimed at the hipster underground. Natural Disasters isn’t really folk. And it isn’t really Americana.

His music is a complex system that kind of defies how we define roots music, where it came from, what it signifies, and where it fits into contemporary music. But it gets to the root of the human experience and what we’ve all got in common.

Virginia Cohen’s musichas a sonic allure which draws you in. Her distinctive style creates an appealing atmosphere; comforting, poignant, intelligent, relevant. Her voice is haunting, almost otherworldly—tethered to this realm by a gorgeous, compelling lyricism.

This music is brave and vulnerable. Cohen somehow alchemically transmutes human emotion into evocative, resonant song. Honest and true, timeless, yet of the present moment. A truly original voice. This is a gift for any artist. Virginia Cohen has this gift.  virginiacohen.com

Wilson Marks:

Mesmerizing and Endlessly Surprising - a songwriter's songwriter. Playfully prodding the human condition through an idiosyncratic pop ingrained with folk and NOLA jazz instincts, the singer/guitarist/pianist tosses off tunes with a mixture of simplicity and gravity." - Austin Chronicle

"Tone poems - a cure for auto-tune" - no depression

"A prolific singer-songwriter who draws heavily upon jazz overtones, Marks makes music that is refreshingly all over the map" - Austin American Statesman

Wilson Marks studied jazz in the city of New Orleans but is based in Austin Texas-  His songs cross genres and often feature word play, alliterative turns of phrase, harmonic twists or furry chords.

Katie Henry has returned to Eugene after a successful solo career and years with supergroup Babes with Axes
