Mood Area 52 and Tsunami Books share a history going all the way back to 2003, when they first performed background music at the Bookstore for the silent film Nosferatu before one of the biggest crowds ever in the store. This time through they will be sharing the stage with The Baroque Betty String Quartet.

Mood Area 52 is a Eugene, Oregon musical collective that performs original vocal and instrumental music featuring some of Eugene’s best musicians. Mood Area 52’s styles range from cinematic instrumentals to blues inflected Americana. Mood Area 52 is Michael Roderick on vocals, accordion and guitar, Amy Danziger on Cello, Dan Schmid on bass, Don Elkington on drums, Corwin Bolt on lead guitar, with Betty Jaeger sharing vocals. For 25 years Mood Area 52 has toured endlessly thoughout Lane County

The Baroque Betty String Quartet is led by Bettreena Jaeger, the 2025 Singer-Songwriter of the year in the Eugen Weekly poll. Joining Betty will be Alex Abrams, Corwin Bolt, and Leif Karlstrom. The quartet is a dark, orchestral folk ensemble hailing from Eugene, OR. With lyrics replete with animal and nature imagery, and love lost but not forgotten, the music is reminiscent of a fairy tales more in the fashion of Grimm than Disney, with minimalistic guitar styling and soaring string-laden melodies to accompany them.
