Laura Kemp • Collaborations: a live recording at Tsunami Books

Join us for a special evening of music and the live recording of what will be Laura’s 8th album. It has been 35 years since Laura moved to Eugene from the mountains of North Carolina and since then she has created a name for herself as one of the finest songwriters to emerge from the Pacific NW. Over the decades she has worked with many accomplished musicians whom she considers dear friends, and this show will be featuring some of the most recent collaborators. Foremost, her trio with whom she has performed with for the past 20 years: Sean Peterson on bass and Jeremy Wegner on mandolin. Guest appearances will be made by fellow Babe With an Axe, Katie Henry on vocals and Martha Defreest on fiddle (Katie, Martha and Laura have a new side project called The Jungle Hens); Len Seligman of Bhakti Heart on guitar and octave mandolin; and Sandy Holder on piano! Expect to hear unrecorded material, new renditions of old songs as well as a short set on her hand pan. This will be a night to remember at one of Eugene’s finest venues to hear live acoustic music!
