Drummer Evan Furrow, a rising talent from Eugene, Oregon, has always been ahead of his years. By 15, he had already made his mark in Eugene and Portland, often the youngest musician on stage. Now 19, he’s in New York, studying at the Manhattan School of Music.
Furrow started playing drums at 12 and began gigging and performing by 14 around town, his momentum briefly halted by the pandemic. But in that stillness, he studied with jazz greats Dan Weiss and Ari Hoenig, sharpening his craft. When the world reopened, he returned stronger, playing alongside local greats and internationally renowned artists such as George Colligan.
Currently, Furrow is working to develop further as a musician and artist in New York’s turbulent Jazz scene.
Caylie Davis is a trumpet player, composer, and educator from Eugene, Oregon, based in New
York, NY . She currently attends Manhattan School of Music at which she has studied under the
tutelage of renowned trumpet players Ingrid Jensen, Nadje Noordhuis, and Jon Faddis.
Her music is quickly turning an audience through her work as a sidewoman and through her
country/Ornette Coleman/punk-rock-inspired band Things of This Nature, which has performed
at the likes of Nublu, Downtown Music Gallery, and other NYC clubs. A member of the
popular-with-the-youth Selendis Sebastian Alexander Johnson Big Band, Caylie has performed
alongside the likes of Wendy Eisenberg, Zoh Amba, Ingrid Jensen, and more. She has also been
a constantly rehired member of the Jordan Kahn Music Company since September 2022.
Her musical style is largely influenced by pioneers with an affinity for maximalism, including
Booker Little, Maurice Ravel, and SOPHIE. She also draws great inspiration from the
melodiousness of the human voice.
Shogo is a versatile bassist with interests in all music. His priorities are selflessness and listening. He has studied with the great bassists Jay Anderson and Buster Williams. He has performed at numerous well-regarded venues such as CloseUp, Nublu, and Bar Bayeux.
