Samia Biruany is an artist musician and leader of Maia Ysa in the Pinuya Village, a group of women dedicated to strengthening the Huni Kuin culture by working closely with the Kupy Shamans and elders. She is the daughter of a prophet, Shane Hunikui and artisan Seya Yawanawa.
"Feel the spirit of the Amazon jungle through the joyful music of the Huni Kuin people. The Huni Kuin have a rich cultural heritage that includes shamanism, storytelling, music, and art. With a population of more than 25,000 people, they have one of the largest populations of Indigenous Peoples in Brazil.
