Second Egan Concert to Premiere March 14, 2021

Caldera songwriters to perform at

‘Covid-safe’ watch party

Eugene Caldera Songwriters will hold a public watch party at noon Sunday, March 14, on Facebook to celebrate the release of the second of two pre-recorded concerts that feature nearly two dozen gifted local performers.

The first Egan concert on Valentine’s Day raised more than $1,300 for the Egan Warming Center, which provides cold-weather shelter for homeless people in the Eugene-Springfield area. Donations include a $500 challenge grant by local resident Marion Sweeney that will apply to donations resulting from the second concert.

Caldera has been performing benefits for Egan for nearly a decade. In past years, the annual event at Eugene’s Tsunami books has drawn standing-room crowds that came to hear some of the area’s brightest musical talents, while supporting Egan’s vital services

In light of pandemic-related restrictions on public gatherings, Caldera decided to continue this year’s benefit safely online in a two-part offering. The second concert is scheduled for noon on March 14 . (https://youtu.be/Q9EcbNp--S8 )

All viewers are welcome and are asked to make donations of any amount. All donations go to Egan Warming Center, a program of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, and can be made at www.svdp.us (Click “Donate” and designate gifts for Egan.).

Donations can also be made through the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/calderasongwriters, or the Facebook Event: https://fb.me/e/1YOGBdWqO

Donations of material goods, including hats, gloves, blankets, coats, sweaters, pillows, socks and toiletries should be marked for Egan and dropped off at SVdP’s attended drive-through donation center at 2890 Chad Drive, Eugene.
