Subject: Hot Club Eugene with Western Exposure

The boys of Hot Club Eugene, weary of playing in smokey Parisian cafes, have returned to the good old US; stopping in Texas along the way for a spell before hoppin the rails to EUgene. And they've tossed off their berets and donned cowboy hats and chaps.

Michael Anderson has picked up a fancy old electric guitar and is now squawking into a microphone, classic Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys Western Swing style. In an effort to keep up, Jerry Gleason has put down his acoustic guitar and now sits in front of an electric ‘steel’ guitar and an amplifier that plugs into the wall, and he makes some mighty purdy sounds with all that using both hands at once.

Mr Brian Price has put down his violin, forgotten everything he knew about Bach and Gypsy Jazz, and picked that instrument right back up again, but putting a sticky note on the back saying 'It's a Fiddle now Dang It' as a reminder of who he is, where he is and why he's there.  Brian occasionally yodels into the mic as well, trying to beef up Mr Andersons vocals with some harmony and sassy chatter.

The guy with the the biggest instrument on stage, acoustic bassist Hamilton Mays, has decided that since he's brought that very large thing back from France, and paid very high shipping costs, he will just settle down with that old dog and teach it some new tricks.

Veteran (not necessarily a euphemism for old) drummer, Jim Reinking, will put down his aged French Oak drum sticks in favor of a new flavor; Lonesome Pine, and continue banging away as usual at whatever is in his way.

These good ole boys have a new moniker: Western Exposure.

The weary travelers are still going to play that Gypsy Jazz; in fact the soirée/shindig at Tsunami Books will have one set of each kind of music; and we don’t mean Country AND Western.

It will be a confusing clothing evening for everyone , so just do the best you can!

Oui! Y’all.
