Saturday, April 27, 3-6 PM: An afternoon of community, the environment and books around the theme “Healthy and Happy Kids.” Featuring a Book Release Celebration for Melissa Hart (Eugene). Melissa’s latest book is “Better with Books: 500 Diverse Books to Ignite Empathy and Encourage Self-Acceptance in Tweens and Teens” (Sasquatch Books, paperback original). Joining Hart will be Mary DeMocker, author of “The Parent’s Guide to Climate Revolution”;and Ruby McConnell, author of “A Woman’s Guide to the Wild,” who has a new book coming out in May, “A Girls’s Guide to the Wild.”

Join authors Mary DeMocker, Melissa Hart, and Ruby McConnell at Tsunami Books on Saturday, April 27th for a family-friendly celebration of literature and nature.
DeMocker is the author of The Parents' Guide to Climate Revolution: 100 Ways to Build a Fossil-Free Future, Raise Empowered Kids, and Still Get a Good Night's Sleep. Hart is the author of the OBOB title Avenging the Owl, and Better with Books: 500 Diverse Books to Ignite Empathy and Encourage Self-Acceptance in Tweens and Teens. McConnell is the author of A Woman's Guide to the Wild, and A Girl's Guide to the Wild.
Several organizations--among them Skipping Stones Magazine, Wordcrafters in Eugene, Nearby Nature, and Eugene Waldorf School--will have booths, and refreshments will be served.
3:00 to 4:00--mingle with the authors and your community
4:00 to 5:00--listen to the authors perform excerpts from their new books
5:00 to 6:00--the authors will sign books and answer all your questions
